![]() ![]() Both photos and videos came out detailed and acceptably sharp, though of course the half-sphere content looks better than the full-sphere content because of the extra pixels. In our time with the Insta360 Evo we ended up being very impressed with what it produced, whatever the mode. ![]() Images and video are stored on a microSD card inserted in the side – though this is not protected by a cover of any sort and remains open to the elements. When weighed up against its most obvious competitor, the Vuze XR, there's not much to choose between them: the Vuze XR is a more streamlined and stylish device and comes with a fixed grip, but the compact dimensions and optional attachments of the Insta360 Evo give you more flexibility when it comes to filming. The buttons on top of the device aren't the most intuitive we've ever used – the photo and video indicator icons are absolutely tiny – but after a few minutes with the Insta360 Evo you'll get used to them. The two cameras swing out and back together again courtesy of two rather rudimentary metal locks – we would have liked to see something a bit more sophisticated, but they do the job, and feel secure when they're locked in place. It might be chunky, but the Insta360 Evo feels solid and well-built. Build and handlingĪn uglier GoPro might be one way of describing the look of the Insta360 Evo, but you're here for the video quality not the aesthetic appeal, right? Its compact dimensions (in either mode) and the tripod mount make it an option for fixing to a helmet or a filming rig, which isn't true of every 360-degree VR camera we've seen. The systems runs fine using Adobe Premiere Pro but i'm looking for something easier to use and afordable for my students that can handle the 180/360 in 2D/3D format at, at least 4k.The Insta360 Evo's design is functional rather than attractive, but it is well adapted for mounting on different objects, including the bundled filming 'pole'. On paper, the features of the software look great, we're running Ryzen 7 3800x with 32gb of ram and a 1660super card. Adding place in 360 effects to alle 2D contect Lowering resolution, although i want to be able to export 2K vertical, 4K horizontal for 2D and full 4K for 3D Sometimes it does even stranger things. Sometimes it exports parts of the left-eye, parts of the right-eye but nothing in sync Sometimes it only exports the first frame of every clip in the sequence and the video length is correct Sometimes it only exports the first frame of the sequence with no further video I cannot seem to get an export that works, i get a bunch of different problems and not even the same problems everytime: 2D video in front of, or combined with 180/360 2D/3D videos.Īt this point I'm testing with some sample and stock footage and the editing goes well. Text and arrows in front of 180/360 2D/3D videos ![]() 2D Green screen in front of 180/360 2D/3D videos (teacher talking in a virtual place) 180 videos in side-by-side 3D (from a Vuze XR) 360 videos in over/under 3D (from a Vuze+ Camera) 360 videos 2D (from a Go Pro360 and Vuze XR Camera) So I'm testing some inexpensive software which I want to use with my students to edit: ![]()
